NEW to goal this year Steve has impressed in every game, even winning man of the match in his first appearance. He is a key aspect to the defence as he is the one with the task of organising them as he sees the play progress.
AGAIN new to goal this year the Captain has taken responsibility of goalkeeper during men's matches. After filling in during the first match of the season he loved the adrenaline rush and now cannot be moved from goal. Although like Steve is still learning he again has impressed so far and still manages to get his captain's voice heard at the other end of the pitch.
A FIESTY German defender, Mimi won't let anything get in the way of what she want's. When on the field she will contest every ball and two broken knuckles in just the second match of the season proves this.
After gaining women's experience with Hamburg over the summer she is hoping for an even better year this season.
TOO good for the new style sticks, Berti is happy with the old wooden ones to show her skills. She is a fresher but has previous experience through playing from her school so is already a vital member to the team.
LIKE most of our other girls Nicola has improved no end this year. She has the fighting spirit required for the role and makes sure her attacker never gets away from her.
However after all this she is still probably the most gracious player in the team.
DIMITRI somehow manages to create a magnet in his stick, intercepting passes from all over the fan.
He is well known to go on surging runs forward, and his goal scoring this year has been a great help to the team. He is definitely a contender for top scorer come the end of the season.
DAVE is a fresher but the commitment he has already shown has paid off as already he is fitting into our team. From his first game he has not looked out of place and has impressed throughout, especially his man marking skills as he minimises the threat of the opposition.
MUCH like his name sake, Dave has impressed whenever he has been on the field. Starting lacrosse this year he has the eye for defence and has already played well against the best attacks in the league. The two Dave partnership is definitely one that will flourish.
WITH an injured back last year Bungle had to sit out the whole of the season. We are pleased he was able to recover and is a great asset to the team, staring afresh this year Bungle has done everything that has been asked of him and again his commitment has paid off with vast improvements almost every week.
JENKO is a key organiser to the defence, thanks to his loud voice he is able to scare anybody off the ball. He has learnt his trade through men's lacrosse and is always a first choice starter, and is one of the hardest hitters in the team. This year he has taken up mixed lacrosse as well and has been a great help to the team, his defensive views are vital to the team and are encorporated into how we play.
RICK is our Kiwi from Oz. Again mainly a men's lacrosse defender he takes pride in using his power to take out the opposition attackers. He has a loud voice on and off the pitch and loves the physical side to the game. Like many others he has also joined the mixed team this year and when he has time he makes himself available to train and play with them as well.
RAMBO is our Welsh mad man with a 6ft D pole. He is capable of putting in big checks and rarely gets drawn out of position, like Jenko and Rick his main game is the mens lacrosse but always helps out with mixed when needed. As well as this he is our most experience referee and so if not playing, he is there helping the team out.
CARLY is the captain of the Mixed team and is in her third year of playing. She managed to win the women of the match award in every game last year which just shows what her abilities are. She will run her heart out throughout the game, whether she plays in midfield or attack, her commitment is not something that can be questioned.
LAURA is excelling in her new role of defensive midfield this year, she is enjoying the extra freedom since moving up from defense, and is an integral part of ensuring the flow of our attacks.
We can always guarantee on her being on hand to help the defense on quick breaks, and her skills on the draw has already lead to a number goals this season.
AS a speedy midfielder, Jack gained two man of the match awards in his first three games to show how well he taken to the game. It is his first year playing but is already turning into a key part of the team. Off the field jack is our fastest drinker, downing whole pints in a matter of seconds.
TRAINING for the marathon, Rich's fitness is a great asset to the team. It is his first year at lacrosse and he has picked it up with ease. He maintains an attacking mind and is eager to get to goal, and makes expert runs off the ball, using his pace to get into space.
TO celebrate his first ever goal a baileys bottle was brought onto the pitch for him to drink and this tells you everything you need to know about Ben. Always up for a good time he is drunk more nights than not, but can always gets up in the morning to play. Like Rich he has a very attacking mentality so more goals are expected soon.
BEING labeled as an athlete is questionable but that's what he want's to be known as. This year he has impressed throughout, especially after picking up the mens game as well. He has a keen eye for goal and is a serious threat for both teams, meaning he is one of many competitors fighting for the top scorer award.
KNOWN as Crash Test Dummy on tour he more than lives up to his name. He seems to manage to get injured at least five times a game and still carry on playing. Now in his third year James is one of the most experienced players and has a major input to how the team is run.
With an incredible ability to dodge defenders James is one of our main scorers in both men's and mixed.
LIKE Kelly she has added goals to her game this year, giving her added confidence which is shown off in every game. Now a key part of the attack Elle at five foot nothing scares the defense with her fierce will to get the ball and desire to impress. She really is our little dynamo.
AS an ever present fresher she has seen what a real sport is all about. Using the skills she has gained from the 'game' of cricket she has built up proberly the fiercest shot with a women's stick the team has to offer. Scoring in just her second competitve game she showed the attacking potential she possesses. Her challenge now is to be the top scoring fresher for the year.
JEN Is the Scorpions one and only cheerleader, but that is only in her spare time. She will soon see her real calling is lacrosse and already known as Elle 2, she is going to follow the same line as little El. Her enthusiasm and beaming smile is enough for anyone to realise she will fit into the team, and it is only a matter of time before she gains the confidence she needs to improve.
MADI is such a lovable character, her first appearance to the society was for a social, and not a training session which shows the sociable aspect to her personality. Although she often doesn't believe it herself she has the skills to become a very good player.
JAMES is the vice-captain of the mixed team and is hoping for a successful year after finishing as the top scoring fresher last year. Although attacking is James' desired position he helps out where needed, even playing in defense at some times, and a defensive midfielder at others. Always during a match he tries to encourage the team, even if it sometimes falls on deaf ears.
NICK is our large creaseman and one of the main goal threats in the mens team. He goes against the norm in the sense that he inflicts as much, if not more hits on defenders as they do on him. Like many others he has rejoined the mixed team and one of his greatest achievements is setting up a goal while his arm was in cast with a broken hand.
