The Staffordshire Scorpions produced a determined display but it proved to be in vain, as they were unable to get close to the title challengers.
In their first match following the Christmas break, the Scorpions were able to field a full strength squad but this did little to affect the final outcome.
Staffordshire started strongly and had two promising attacks in the opening minutes but James Anderson and Marcus Howe were unable to convert their chances. Both players lost the ball from their sticks just as they were about to release a shot.
Norbury made the Scorpions pay for their missed chances, scoring from their first attack and never looked back from there.
The away team had doubled their lead before Staffs could sustain another attack. After a patient build up Jack Tew surged into the fan, but was unable to get the power in the shot to trouble the goalkeeper.
Once again, the failure to score was punished by Norbury as they added a third from the resulting clearance.
A fourth soon followed and the result was looking ominous but in the last minute of the quarter, Jimmy Ray pulled a goal back to keep Staffs in contention.
The attacker pressurised the keeper and intercepted his before supplying a quick finish into the empty net.
At the beginning of the second quarter, the Scorpions lost their concentration and lost two players to the sin bin. Norbury took full advantage, scoring two quick goals with the man advantage and then adding their seventh soon after.
The result already looked secure but Stuart Bauser grabbed a consolation goal for the home team as he supplied a long-range shot to finish off a prolonged attack.
However this was as good as it got for Staffs as they lost eight goals without reply to leave the final score 15-2.
