A great début performance by all of our freshers. This was the best example of showing how dedicated you are to the club, which was great to see.
Before the match, I could see everyone was looking confident, but I would imagine a lot you freshers were nervous inside, which I can understand. To be honest I felt it as just another game and I just wanted to see how the freshers would cope.
Good to see we got there very early, compared to last year where we only did around 30 minutes of training and Jay was not happy.
The start of the match gave me much confidence in our when Roids back checked a Keele player and continued to check players left, right and centre. His was my fresher of the match. That doesn't mean that I wasn't impressed the other freshers. Dan looks like he'll be a key defender and congrats on getting the fresher of the match and some how having to down two pints. Leigh had a solid game including an impressive check. Pingu had a solid outing, but he still has a lot to work on, because I know he can be a great attacker. But overall I thought every freshers looked like they weren't giving up and wanted to experience as much as possible, which is fantastic to see.
Nice to see our captain Dimi is already creating a gap in the top goalscorer league after scoring half of our goals. One player that could have challenged him for top goalscorer was Nathan, who ended the clear winner of 'Dick of the Day'. This was because, despite scoring one goal he had the chance of collecting a double hat-trick.
Overall, very promising and I can see us having some very entertaining games this season
