Despite the loss it was a top effort by everyone. I now see a lot of potential in a lot of our freshers, especially from the girls.
Before I talk about the match, I don't think I've seen so many hungover people before any lacrosse match. But I have noticed that previous hungover people (Ben Bradley) seem to do really well during matches.
I was expecting a tight match as we didn't have our best side out there, and Birmingham is usually our bogey team. But I didn't expect a lot of girls to play some excellent Lacrosse. Once again we have more freshers scoring for the first time. Today it was Suzi and I think in the end she was many peoples player of the match. She was a constant threat on goal and totally deserved her two goals during the match.
It wasn't just Suzi, loads of other players impressed me, and they were all girls. Our resident hockey goalie Amy seems to be getting better every time I see her and despite scoring I think her highlight of the match was basically making on of the Birmingham guys fall on his backside THREE TIMES during the match. It was very strange to watch, but amusing at the same time.
Continuing with the girls theme, it was good to see Rebecca Merchant continue her trend of scoring a goal in her last three games, which now puts her as leading girls scorer.
I must mention about me scoring my first goal of the season as I don't score many. I'm happy I scored to make sure I got at least one goal in my final year. Now I just need to score in men's for the first time ever. I was even more chuffed I got player of the match as I've only claimed that title once before. It's always good to see peoples abilities are being noticed by the opponents.
So to conclude I was pleased with the performance, despite the one goal loss I think we could still continue the tradition of us having a top mixed team.
